YIDO in collaboration with Uganda Police is conducting National Community Policing Programme in schools.

YIDO’s interventions in promoting community policing continue to excite the world.

Researchers from Brown University, University of Pennsylvania, and Columbia University discovered that there is enough evidence to suggest that the community policing interventions implemented by YIDO are resulting into more women and children reporting cases of domestic violence and Child rights violations. Universities under Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) studied the impact of policing interventions that addressed the challenge of building trust and cooperation between police and citizens in Uganda. YIDO implements community policing programs in partnership with Uganda Police.

YIDO’s model to ending violence against women is built on robust interventions in women empowerment for financial freedom and participation in community leadership for increased advocacy

YIDO’s partnership with Uganda Police Force and Recommendation of Ministry of Education and Sports has registered impactful achievement in addressing school targeted violence and crimes.

The IHLI program of YIDO is focused to support people living with HIV/AIDS with ease of access to treatment and care as well as increasing awareness and support for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene initiatives in Kampala and Rwenzori regions.
