TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY INTO THE COMPETITION
The drawing competition (the "Competition") is open to children living in Uganda aged between 9-18 and eighteen years old ("You").
To enter the Competition, You should draw the picture on any of the topics provided and advertised on our social media platforms and website.
You can enter the Competition by sending your entry to the WhatsApp number or filling a form provided on our website.
The competitor bears the cost of materials used in the production of an art piece and costs related to the submission of the work
When submitting your Competition entry, You must provide your name, age, and address and the name and contact telephone number of your parent or guardian. We will only use this information in relation to the Competition (including checking your eligibility to enter it) and communication-related to the project. We shall not use it for other purposes whatsoever.
An individual participant can only send one entry. A phone/ email can send more than one entry in the case of a parent/ guardian with more than one interested participants/ children/ students.
We must receive your entry to the Competition by the deadline issued on the screen, after the deadline all entries will automatically be rejected.
Employees or agents of staff of YIDO are NOT eligible for competition for a fairer and non-conflicting interest in this competition.
All entries will be digital copies. Images can be scanned or photographed and sent through on the provided channels.
All entries submitted can be used by YIDO in any way on the websites, social media platforms, and other publications. The participants indemnify YIDO no royalties or benefits in intellectual property rights and royalties on entries.
By submitting an entry to the Competition, You give YIDO a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to republish your Competition entry in electronic format and hard copy for purposes connected with the Competition; and b. The right to use your name, age, and town or city of residence for the sole purpose of identifying you as the author of your entry.
In the case of the shortlisted candidates where stories may be requested and hard/ original copies requested, an arrangement will be made at YIDO’s expense to have the story and hard copy obtained. The original/ hard copy remains the property of the participant/ competitor. If YIDO offers to retain it, it will be bought at a cost not exceeding 50,000Ugx
The winners will be picked from the 30 shortlisted candidates by the judges. The public will be invited to vote against the shortlisted candidates and the public vote will constitute 50% of the winning mandate while the judge’s vote will constitute the other 50%.
Getting consent from an adult. Sending in an entry to the Competition means that you accept these Terms and Conditions, which are the rules of the Competition. You should check with your parent or guardian that they are happy for you to enter the Competition based on these Terms and Conditions.
By submitting your entry, you seek the consent of the parent or guardian of the author of a winning entry to publish that winning entry and the author's name, age, and school of the entrant. The parents/ guardians should be involved in the submission of the work and will accept the terms and conditions on the participants’ behalf.
The winner will receive prizes as announced on our website and social media platforms. Where a need is, the prizes will be adjusted to increase in size or to include more than one offers but shall not be less than what is currently published online. The winners may be invited physically to participate in the prize-giving ceremony.
